PU’UHALE ELEMENTARY

HONOLULU, HI - JUNE 2022

Supporting “KALO” values to enrich the quality of community life for the students and staff.

On Wednesday, June 29th, members of the Board had the esteemed privilege of donating goods to the KALO Store at Pu’uhale Elementary School!!

A special thank you to @carolynmoriyama for her generous donation to Red Apple Foundation, and to individuals who supported our most recent fundraiser with @hiros_smokehouse. We were able to contribute over $2,000 worth of bags, backpacks, totes, and hats to Pu’uhale’s KALO Store!

You might be wondering… 💫What is the “KALO Store”?💫
⭐️The KALO Store at Pu’uhale Elementary is a corner shop tucked in the heart of the school. In this exclusive store, students can purchase a variety of items: books, small trinkets, toys/stuffed animals, crafts, school supplies, backpacks, and clothing/school uniforms with the “KALO Cash” that they receive throughout the school year.

At Pu’uhale, students can earn KALO Cash by displaying certain characteristics and behaviors the school wishes to develop, grow, and promote. This includes exhibiting the school’s PBS System (Positive Behavioral Support), GLO (General Learner Outcomes) attributes, as well as KALO Values – where possibilities surface at the school each day.

A - Aloha (Live with Love)
L - Laulima (Live Cooperatively)
O - Ohana (Live as a Family)

Red Apple Foundation is proud to support the KALO Values at Pu’uhale Elementary School. Mahalo, Pu’uhale Elementary, for shaping our young generation with values that complement our beautiful island home.
